Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis is characterized by abnormally increased perspiration and sweating. The sweating is n excess of what is needed for regulation of bodily temperature. Hyperhidrosis can either be all over your body or located to specific parts of the body. Hands, feet, arm pits and the groin are among the most active regions of hyperhidrosis due to the high number of sweat glands in those areas. You can have it anywhere on your body though. Hyperhidrosis is found to start during adolescence or sometimes before, and it seems to be inherited as a genetic trait. Hyperhidrosis is estimated at around 1% of the population, and it affects men and women equally. Most patients usually disregard their excessive sweating and it never occurs to them that they could have a condition. |
